Tapatio Añejo Tequila is the authentic handmade añejo from Tapatio — the Mexican cult favorite tequila with 80+ years of production heritage. Distilled to strength and bottled without dilution to retain the true flavors of the spirit. Agave piñas are harvested by jimadores, slowly baked for 4 days, then crushed to extract the mosto. Fermented by an 80-year-old yeast culture, double-distilled in Tequilano pot stills, aged 18 months in used Jim Beam American oak barrels, then barely filtered and bottled. The longer aging evokes floral and peppery aromas with cacao and lime zest flavors balanced with spicy dried chile, finishing with warm vanilla tones.Tapatio is one of the most respected small-production tequilas in Mexico — made with 100% estate-grown blue agave from the highlands of Jalisco. The 18-month Añejo expression was introduced to the US alongside the Reposado in 2013, presenting the full estate-grown agave character developed by extended American oak maturation.Tasting Notes
